SIG Sauer Background and Description

SIG Sauer was first established in 1985 with the purpose of importing and distributing SIG firearms from Germany and Switzerland into United States. It was initially named Sigarms and remained so until October 2007. In 2010 SIG Saur Inc. became organizationally separated governmental and local organizations such as the U.S. Navy Seals, the Federal Air Marshals, the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Coast Guard carry SIG Sauer firearms because of their reliability and quality. Headquartered in Newington, New Hampshire SIG operates its manufacturing and distribution facility with more than 900 employees on site. Though they are now organizationally separated from their sister and parent companies they still conduct business with J.P. Sauer & Sohn and Blaser, Gmbh. in Germany as well as Swiss Arms AG in Switzerland.
