Founded and owned by Richard M and Fitzpatrick in 1999, Magpul Corporation both designs and manufactures firearms, accessories and concept firearms. Its name originates from its first product, the Stanag magazines which made it possible for armed forces to pull magazines out of their pouches. The company’s headquarters is in Texas while manufacturing takes place in Wyoming, USA. The company has three divisions; Magpul Industries Corporation, Magpul PTS and Magpul dynamics which manufacture products, offer professional training and simulation and provide firearms training respectively. The company is known for redesigning weapons and it’s therefore common to hear that a certain weapon has been magpulized.

Magpul makes AR-15 and M16 accessories and it also sells magazines, sights, mounts, hand guards, for ends, shotgun and rail accessories as well as electronics cases, training videos and Magpul branded items such as apparel and caps. Magpul has several partners some of who retail, distribute as well as manufacture which makes the company more efficient and enables it to cater for all types of customers. The company received its first patent in 2001 and won a UK ministry of Defense bid to supply EMAGs in 2010.This is a very progressive company as it has something to show for every single year it has been in the industry.

Magpul also was the center of controversy during the 2013 gun ban offensive by the Colorado legislature and governor. Magpul threatened to pull out of Colorado if they passed gun control legislation. Magpul held true to its promise and immediately relocated out of the state.
