DS Arms is a manufacturing company founded by BATFE, or the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, in 1987. The company is based in Barrington, Illinois, and does not only sell and manufacture guns, US approved rifles, and firearms, but also assemble them and assist in the fabrication of safe, innovative firearms.

Along with these functions, DS Arms is also tasked by BATFE in designing new firearms, and prototyping and testing all firearms to ensure that they pass and follow all US laws regarding firearms and guns. The parts that are being used in all DS Arms Firearms are interchangeable with the FN FAL, since the company also manufactures and creates guns for FAL, therefore producing a percentage of the FAL firearms. A sample of the firearms that the company produces for the FAL is the FN FAL 7.62 mm rifle system.

All of the firearms made by DS Arms use parts that are strictly US-made, except when a customer requests for a specific non-US firearm part or accessory. Along with manufacturing FAL firearms, DS Arms also creates and manufactures other popular rifles for law enforcers to use. These are the M16, M2, MAG58, and the M203 40mm.
