DPMS was founded in 1985 by Randy Luth. Located in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the company and all of its products were borne out of the vision of a group of avid shooters and gun collectors. These entrepreneurs created Team DPMS in 1998, a group of competitive shooters who use DPMS guns in competitions. It is a team made up of some of the world’s most competitive and best shooters, all of which were included in the team to showcase the company’s commitment to high quality firearms and accessories. Team DPMS is made up of around ten members who have joined numerous competitions, received several awards and recognition, and recorded various achievements in the sport of shooting for years with the team.

DPMS has become a world-renowned company for all of its high quality rifles. It is known for four US patents on appropriate and well sought out rifle products. The company offers a variety of different rifles on their arsenal. Some of these include the M203, the M14, the M16, and AR15.
