Alexander Arms was founded in January of 2001 by Bill Alexander. Considered as one of the top armorers in the UK, he moved to the US and established the headquarters of Alexander Arms in Radford, Virginia.

The company’s most known product is the highly regarded .50 Beowulf cartridge, which is made for the AR-15 light assault rifle redesigned by Alexander specifically for the said cartridge. Known as the biggest cartridge that can be fed through an AR without having to go through major internal changes, this cartridge is the original big bore caliber for the AR rifle. Another cartridge the company has designed is the 6.5mm Grendel, which is chambered for the AR-15 as well. The new cartridge features flat shooting and long range accuracy. Like what happened with the .50 Beowulf, Alexander redesigned the AR-15 in order to properly function and complement the 6.5mm Grendel. These two cartridges served as the cornerstone on which Alexander Arms was built.

The latest Alexander Arms creation is the Ulfberht – a deceptively simple .338 Lapua Magnum semi-automatic rifle. Other products it offers are the .17HMR, the 5.56 NATO, and the 300 AAC upper receivers and rifles. The company also produces upper receivers and complete rifles, as well as accessories and ammunition for its products.
